Lumia 1020 King of Camera phones ?

Nokia has a long tradition of packing tremendous cameras with great quality in their phones for example The N95,N8,808 Pureview etc.





The Nokia Lumia 808 Pureview and Nokia N82 with CarlZeis optics.








Now The Nokia Lumia 1020 a windows mobile phone with whopping 42 Megapixel camera took the baton from it's fore runners.

Not only the megapixel count that is special also the Shutter speed the ISO levels and Optical image Stabilization will give you the best shot night or day.Forgot to mention the Expert shot that let you shoot two pictures with different resolution at the same time.
Also it has two high quality mics that let you record stereo sound with deep bass ha ha.....Never heard of that in a mobile it will be possible.Also to my astonishment that the new phone in spite of the bigger image sensor and added features is nearly 30 grams lighter than it's predecessor and also 2 millimeters thinner let alone the bulge at camera.
Also the lens are CarlZeis which are better than Exmor R in my opinion.
The Image processing unit is unknown but I think it will be Broadcom's.

Mediatek MT6592 Octocore Chipset


 Mediatek a fab-less mobile chipset manufacturer known for cheap Dual and Quad core solutions is on its way of producing an Octocore mobile chipset MT6592
     Well in fact it's not quite that Octocore that you might imagine but it's a Quadcore chipset based on ARM's  "little--Big" computing.This Beastly chipset features four Cortex a15cores and four Cortex a7 cores only max four of these cores will run at a time Cortex a15 will take over when running powerful tasks like playing a HD video or a game and leave the miniscule tasks to Cortex a7 thus saving power and giving the best performance both at a time.
      
           Note-Anew update states that all 8 cores will be 2.0ghz Cortex a7's and it will be a real 8 core chipset and not a pseudo one.

     This shows that how Android paved a way for some nameless and fab-less manufacturers to establish themselves and to compete with other big companies.
     The rumors are that Huewai and Sony are deciding to launch their new Android phones based on this Chipset.

Currently in the market are Exynos Octa chips made by Samsung.......Yeah those used in international variant of Galaxy s4.

Where is this mobile revolution taking us -A journey through past and into the future

Five years ago almost 70% of people now using smartphone never used one.Also most of those used them don't know what their phones capable of and even the never visited app stores or never downloaded any apps.Then it was word of Symbian and Windows mobile some used Blackberry and Palm.

Now five years after there is a huge explosion in the rate of smartphone usage first reason cheaper prices and widely available mobile operating system Android.Either small and big cellphone manufacturers can use android for free so they can't very much differentiate themselves in terms of software but they can do in hardware the firms that can adapt to changes they succeeded(Samsung) and those who are just reluctant failed(Nokia). Even five years ago mobile operating systems were widely available like Symbian and Windows mobile but there is lot of fragmentation(Much greater than android) also the smartphone manufacturers has to invest in software to customize the operating systems for their mobiles.So the small manufacturers and start ups can't invest that much because it will rise the cost of phone or they can't afford to do so.



   But with the advent of android everything has changed there has been a single app store for all manufacturers owned and managed by Google.Manufacturers need not invest in developing all API's and SD K's Google does that on behalf of them.Even they need not pay any license fees to Google.In short they are getting a world class operating system to use on their phones for free.
 

 

                          These small chipset vendors changed the face of smartphone revolution
   Now come to the hardware part then there weren't that much companies involved in mobile chip-set business now the scene has changed there are many companies that are producing chip-sets and they also give all the driver support to the manufacturers.Then it was only Texas instruments and Samsung that has the capability to produce mobile chip sets at large due to the cost involved.Now the price of silicon has fallen many folds.A few years ago the phone that would have costed some 800 bucks now only costs around 100bucks.

Now what is the future and which way is this mobile revolution going along.....................

  Now the future is wearable tech and multipurpose devices people just don't want to put tech in their pockets the want tech to be part of them the Google glass and iwatch are from those category.Even the just start as complementary items for Smart phones they soon take over.
  Now the question is what happens to these small manufacturers in the advent of wearable tech,this kind of tech will bring in lot of patents which surely big manufacturers will own and it will be a havoc to small manufactures and it may lead to monopolistic competition.
   Also we don't want to carry different items for different tasks we want both PC and Mobile phone to unite some call it Phablets but no they are not.
     A device should function as a phone when we use it and should be a full fledged PC when you dock it and you should be able to connect all kinds of peripherals to it like your PC.

     Ubuntu mobile is one such example but it is too far from reality.
But anyway this is going to be the future.

Apple iwatch

This is the time to talk about iwatch.
                    At this year end a new i device is getting added to Apple's "i" catalog., much more interesting is the rising competition amongst tech giants in wearable technology.Along with Google's long known Google glass Samsung has announced that they are in making of a smart watch,the competition is rising."Also Tim Cook's comment that "hand is the best place for wearable tech than head" say's apple's intentions on iwatch.

Any way competition is so intense also notable thing here is Samsung's bendable youm display this kind of display is more realistic for wearable tech which should be hard enough for daily usage.

So now let's get on to what we can expect from iwatch.

 Is the screen bendable..... We want to have bendable screens in our watches they are stronger than normal screens they can resist scratches with out any gorilla glass thing which I don't like.And they are really bendable which is so exciting.Also for a watch clearly amoled is the winner if you want color screens which consumes less battery which is so important for a watch.
 Sensor's........................................ These are the real things that makes a smart watch so smart so,what we can expect a GPS , Gyro , Accelerometer , Magnetometer what else may be a sensor to calculate the circumference of wrist so it cam adjust the screen along.May be a Heartbeat sensor and thermometer there is a possibility for a humidity sensor too.
 Applications.............................. Is the watch smart by it self or is just dumb enough only to push notifications from a mobile phone.Does it have it own applications or it just mirrors the mobile phone's display.Any way mirroring requires WiFi or Bluetooth which drinks all the juice in just a few hours.
 Water and dust proof......... It should be at least water proof for up to 30 meters i cant call something a watch if it isn't water proof .There are many watches available for a few bucks that are waterproof iwatch would surely cost few hundred bucks waterproof will be the least expected feature from it.
 Battery life.................................You just can't call something a watch if it can't last for at least a month customers don't want to charge their watch daily.Searching for a charging point to charge your watch is just so stupid.

Let us think realistically what we can do on a smart watch.

Check temperature..................................................Check

Park and Retrieve car...............................................May be yes

Place a call...............................................................Looks awkward but I am ready to accept change.

Holographic content..................................................It's future but reserve it to Hollywood for now.



But I believe that something that is a duo of watch and a smart phone is the future.

Tegra 4 Nvidia's next step into mobile gaming Industry

Nvidia recently unveiled their new SOC Tegra 4.

Though it may not look as powerful as the Qualcomm's counterpart the Snapdragon 800,this chip is aiming at the android gaming market niche that Nvidia wants to penetrate.The announcement of project shield and other handheld consoles running android shows how big gaming on android platform will going to be.
                                      .................Now a long story short...............
This will be a tough time for Sony's PS vita whose sales still not gained momentum neither it caught developer's interest.But Nintendo is in a safer position by differentiating themselves from android handhelds by adding 3d tricks to games.Also more developers are interested in developing for 3ds rather than PS vita and 3ds already have sufficient titles to impress beginners and veterans.
   
                             all that beautiful hardware put to waste will be a nightmare for any gaming lover

 So what is the lesson learnt.............!
              It's not about how powerful the hardware platform is but it is about how good you put it into use(and it's good time to mention how iPhone is different from android phones Apple is always good at marrying great hardware with insanely great software).
Nvidia is so good in this respect they gathered some good developers and make them develope games with additional effects that make use of tegra's GPU right from the beginning when it launched tegra2 now it got some respectable titles to differentiate itself from other ARM SOC makers.(also this is both good and bad good for gamers bad for android(cause fragmentation)
        
          Now it's tegra4's turn to push it much further.Also do not forget that all tegra2 and tegra3 games are backward compatible with tegra4 SOC.Benchmarks may show that Tegra4 is less powerful than it's counterparts but it's relative value is much more which will be the ultimate factor.


Let us wait time will decide who will rule the billion dollar gaming market.
